The Hill Country Vocal Arts Society is seeking an accomplished, reliable,and collaborative Pianist to serve as our Choral Accompanist. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality piano accompaniment for weekly rehearsals and performances, working closely with the Artistic Director to support the musical growth of the ensemble.

Key Responsibilities

• Rehearsals: Accompany weekly rehearsals on Mondays from 6:30 to 8:30 pm and sectional rehearsals as needed.
• Performances: Play piano for four scheduled concerts per year, dress rehearsals, and special performances.
• Collaboration: Work with the Director to provide musicality, interpret scores, and maintain appropriate tempos.
• Sight-Reading: Accurately sight-read choral scores of varying difficulty.
• Rehearsal Support: Assist in leading rehearsals by playing specific vocal parts (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) during sectionals.

Qualifications

• Advanced piano technique and strong sight-reading skills.
• Previous experience as a choral or vocal accompanist preferred.
• Familiarity with a wide range of choral repertoire.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to take direction from the conductor.
• Punctuality and reliability.

Compensation

$5000 for the 2026-27 season
